Does Nigel ever race the Aussie Bandit or is it strictly for oo's and ahh's crowd pleasing? It looks to be built race-able.
ReplyDeleteHi Ryan, although The Bandit is purpose built as an exhibition race car it still does the business down the track. It is capable of 10.2 down the quarter mile on just two wheels! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat is the bandits track record?? As you said 10.2 isn't shabby, they might even be able to get it to a flat 10 if they wanted.
ReplyDeleteDo you happen to know why they decided on the name Aussie Bandit? After I watched the video I started thinking the Aussie Beast would of been more suitable. But I guess people may perceive beast as big and slow, and a Bandit is thought of as being fast.
ReplyDeleteHi Steve, it's only a guess but the legend of Ned Kelly ( over here in Australia Ned Kelly is considered folklore, based on a true bushranger ) is probably the theme. Hard to tell when it's moving but there is an airbrushing of him in his helmet on the side of the car :) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ned_Kelly
ReplyDeleteIf you watch the video closely you will see that the butterfly intake barely opens this is because it is restricted here in Australia so yes it could do faster than 10 on the track. But I don't think he is allowed to.
