If I had to choose just ONE favourite community in the NFT space (so far) that I have been involved in I would have to go with the Lazy Lions for sure. I bought my first Lazy Lion, Lion #5991, for 1.2 ETH on Aug 30 2021, in the midst of the first real NFT hype train and with ETH in an abundant bull market. Like most new buyers at the time I aped in on a whim just to see where it would go.
Having been involved with the Gala Games project early, my knowledge of NFT revolved mostly around utility of game related assets. Lazy Lions was my first experience with a PFP project, and that experience was incredible to say the least. Crypto Twitter started showing me an absolute TON of love from other Lazy Lions holders. A sea of hashtags #LionsFollowLions #LazyLions #ROAR enveloped my social bubble right up to my periphery, and I gained a few thousand new followers in just a few weeks by participating whole-heartedly in this Lion love hype train.
Besides the epic exposure bestowed upon me just for owning a Lion NFT, I was also introduced to a discord membership that stood out from any others I had joined at the time. A close knit bunch of enthusiastic PFP’ers, overtly positive about the space in general and ever so helpful and welcoming to newcomers.
Yes there were the usual crowd of naysayers and complainers in there too, but the ratio of positivity and help vs doom and gloom has always been overwhelmingly on the positive side. The community is nearly everything when it comes to PFP projects, anyone in the space will recognise that. The community in this case was on point with the bonus of bringing a Twitter game that was widely accepted as being second to none when it counted. I admitted publicly at one stage that being a Lion was the most fun I’d ever had on Twitter.
I concede that there are far more valued and famous PFP projects out there and the Lazy Lions roadmap has not always been executed with perfect panache. However just on the back of the brand ambience the Lion founders and their community built together I decided a Lion PFP would be a permanent representation of me, at least while NFT’s are even a thing. If you are still seeking a strong and enthusiastic community I wholeheartedly recommend giving the Lazy Lions a go.
